Hello, I am Amelie
Project manager. Parent. An expat residing in Paris, France.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Began
Moving to France wasn't in our long-term plan. Like many long-distance relocations, it started as a job opportunity and quickly grew into something much larger.
The first months were tough — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and new expectations. Daily tasks felt more complex than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Phase
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt stable.
Why I Created SoftGladeIndex
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in France.

This site is:

- Centered on family living and daily realities
- Updated only when a real change occurs

- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
